Perhaps you would like to volunteer to be a member of the Creative Directions Advisory Board and/or a youth mentor. In addition to needing a secure safe haven, youth in group homes and in the community also need consistent interaction with positive role models who can help them to shape their lives and grow into mature, responsible adults. Criminal behavior in youth usually occurred because of a lack of guidance, uncertainty about ones future, and/or a lack of positive goals.

To counteract the lack of guidance and support that socially and economically disadvantaged youth receive, Creative Directions, with the assistance of consulting mental health professionals, designed a mentoring program that generates one-to-one positive relationships between upstanding community members and socially and economically disadvantaged youth. It is the agency’s hope that those youth who have been mentored will become positive role models in their schools and communities, as well.
